Here’s something that caught my eye this week, a website called ‘Daily Overview’ has been posting some fascinating images from around planet Earth in an attempt to change the way we see the world around us. The project was inspired by the Overview Effect experience, which is a cognitive shift of perspective and worldview experienced by the astronauts when they get to see the planet Earth from space for the first time. Famous astronaut Col. Chris Hadfield had a fantastic twitter feed of images like the ones below and what was more amazing is that the images were coming live from space! I love this century.

The people behind this project write: “The mesmerizing flatness seen from this vantage point, the surprising comfort of systematic organization on a massive scale, or the vibrant colors that we capture will hopefully turn your head”.

Unfortunately ‘Daily Overview’ is temporarily on hold but you can still get your daily dose of sattelite photography on their Facebook | Instagram | Twitter | Tumblr pages.
