So, 2014 is behind us and after the usual under-whelming Christmas family fun and New Year parties it’s time to take a break. Everyone should take a break once in a while and your skin is no different, imagine how much ‘wear and tear’ you put it through everyday not mentioning the fact that everyday things like shaving can have a detrimental impact on it if done incorrectly.
Up steps Montagne Jeunesse, a company established back in ‘85 with the sole aim of creating natural beauty products which make a minimum impact on all forms of life at every stage of their production. It’s great to see Montagne Jeunesse manufacture toiletry products that are completely vegetarian and are approved by the Vegetarian Society as the last thing you want to be covering your body with is a large cocktail of chemicals.
Montagne Jeunesse boasts a wide range of products ranging from face masks to foot, bath, hair and body creams in single-use sachets. I was lucky enough to try out the Blackhead Blitzer and Dirt & Grime Clean products after which I’m sure my face was wondering what it had done to deserve such a pampering.
The Blackhead Blitzer no mess fabric mask was first under the microscope and although it made me look like a bad Mexican wrestler it felt wonderfully soothing on my skin and left it looking mighty fresh after using it for just 5 minutes. It was actually a nice feeling to lie down for a bit while my face tingled and the mask was doing it’s work. The combination of natural ingredients in the mask itself helped clean my pores and my usually oily skin was looking surprisingly normal.
The Dirt & Grime Clean was by far my favourite of the bunch, even if it did leave me looking like a lost member of TOWIE. You simply slap it on, leave it on for 15 minutes and it washes off during your shower. I tried it in the morning and my face still smelled of cinnamon and ginger hours later! Cinnamon and ginger actually have invigorating properties that help tighten the skin and firm up its tone and appearance, so if you’re ever deciding on a beauty product go for the one with natural ingredients, your skin will thank you. The mask was also self-warming which was a nice little surprise as the heat helps to open up your pores and get rid of all that dirt and grime leaving it smooth and clean.
Overall I found the Montagne Jeunesse face masks to be very simple to use as they took the hassle out of my morning hygiene ritual. Although many men do not wish to be seen as effeminate, simply looking after your skin and appearance should not be looked down upon. Nobody enjoys looking tired or overworked so why not treat yourself and maybe it’ll help you get that spring back in your step.
