This week has been all about moving into my new place in East London so to make a place a home it was time to stretch my outdated interior design muscles. Luckily I had a perfect companion in the shape of a book to give me a refresher course on the world of design in 2015.
The Farfetch Curates: Design is a small coffee book that’s part of a collaboration between the international fashion brand Farfetch and luxury book publisher Assouline. We have covered a number of their products in the past as well as their unique street style shots from Paris Fashion Week 2015 but this time Farfetch has turned its curatorial eye to new fields.
Going on the strength of the previous book, Farfetch Curates: Food, the design book offers a global look into the field of design in 2015. Serving a more inspirational than aspirational purposes the Farfetch Curates: Design book is a perfect flick through, giving you an editorialised glimpse into new areas ranging from architecture and interior design to pure concept pieces that are yet to be produced.
As fashion is viewed differently everywhere you go so is design. The global theme of the book is evident as you can ‘visit’ a new location at a turn of a page and catch a small glimpse of emerging design capitals of the world like Taipei, Prague and Jakarta. If you’re a frequent traveller the handy size of the book is perfect for those long train rides and tedious plane journeys so make sure to grab yourself a copy!
For me Farfetch is a brand that’s going from strength to strength and it’ll be interesting to see how they grow and develop over the next couple of years. One of my daily reads is their Editorial blog that I recommend you check out for a regular dose of inspiration.
I hope you enjoyed my latest post 🙂 Make sure to click the links below to stay up to date and read the latest Photo Journal where I visit the city of Padua in Italy. Stay classy.
