Mysterious Function of Belief

The Mysterious Function of Belief is a new installation by a London based artist – Christopher Oliver. It’s a culmination of five years worth of work  and was inspired from several vivid themes such as: chaos within nature, science and it’s ability to provide us with ontological answers, the esotericism in religious symbology and ritual (particularly Catholicism) and it’s appeal to the artist; the arctic, geographical locations and their importance to our understanding of ourselves. As Chris himself put it, the desire to create something colorful and beautiful for pure aesthetic value should always underpin your drives to create art.

The bulk of the work from the exhibition is made from wood, paper, newspaper, photographs, scrap, items found on the street and other detritus from the artists life. The exhibit itself will run from Wed 23rd – Sun 27th April (Friday exhibit will feature a special one night only installation in the adjoining room).
